But I Digress
I recently came across this lovely ASCII art collection. It really makes me wax nostalgic for the pre-web days of the Internet, before such atrocities as HTML email, and sites full of advertising.
No coolers, food stuffs or beverages (except for baby foods & formulas)
No food stuffs?? Are they nuts? What is this, a movie theatre? The main vendors seem to be Beavertails and Pizza Pizza. Is that what I’m supposed to feed my kids for two days while I’m there? Heaven forbid I bring something healthy for them to eat, like some fruits and vegetables, or something that I cook myself.
These people are nuts. I am not feeding them fast food for two days.
I got a response back in a similar email to the contact email for the air show.
We’re not “banning” foodstuffs. If people want to bring foodstuffs in small “over the shoulder” bags, we’re certainly not going to turn people away at the gate. What we’re trying to discourage is people bringing large coolers and portable BBQ’s.
That is not clear on the website, they should really clarify that. Maybe we’ll try next year, since I missed the early ticket price.
We made it to Gatineau Park for the first time this year today. It was nice to get back, and the kids had a great time. It’s as beautiful as ever.
I think we’re all out of shape though. The kids were complaining about being tired way too early. I think we’ll all have to work on that.
